About the Role
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the transition of conventional farmers to certified organic farming. This position demands not just technical know-how, but also the ability to inspire, train, and facilitate farmers through a complex yet rewarding transformation.
📍 Location: Shillong, Meghalaya
🧠 Experience Required:
4+ years in organic farming and/or experience with organic certification procedures.
🎓 Educational Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biological Sciences, or Business Administration in Agri-Business Management.
Key Responsibilities
Organic Certification Support:
Help farmers and farming groups meet the requirements for organic certification and maintain compliance.Farmer Training & Guidance:
Conduct practical training sessions and workshops to build farmers’ capacities in organic methods and sustainability.ICS Documentation Management:
Manage Internal Control System (ICS) records, which are crucial for maintaining transparency and certification standards.Compliance & Inspections:
Oversee compliance with organic regulations and assist during inspection processes.Market Linkage Facilitation:
Bridge the gap between farmers and potential markets, enabling fair and profitable trade for organic produce.
